Ugh it's been a rough week, and also Christmas, and other things

My girlfriend and I have had a difficult week, because last Sunday her cat Sable had what we think was a stroke.

I am sorry about Sable. I hope it's not anything serious and it's just something minor that she can recover from. It seems like her quality of life is improving given that she is still happy to get pets and seems conscious and interested in what is going on around her. I am sorry about the vet bills though. That sounds horrendous. *hugs*

My girlfriend didn't care about cost. Luckily she had the money to give Sable the best care. Ironically though, all that money spent didn't yield anything. We still have to take her to another vet to see if we can get her tummy back to normal.

sounds awful -and so sorry about your cat-but wow the cost is horrendous -i one of our cats once had a leg amputation after it was hit by a car anf I though $500 was expensive-take care of yourself and hope you can relax over xmas--and may the New Year bring positive changes for you

Ugh, cat stress is the worst, especially when they are content to just carry on as best they can and you have no idea just how terrible they are feeling, until all of a sudden it's life-threatening and it feels like it came out of nowhere. And trying to get them to eat when they just flat out don't want to is so mentally exhausting - I did so much of that with my poor Rodney, rest his sweet little soul.

Giant {{{HUGS}}} for you my dear. I'm so sorry that Chicago isn't turning out to be the great new start we all hoped it would be for you - god knows if anyone deserves a break, it's you. Fingers crossed for the new year - maybe '13 will turn out to be lucky after all :o)

The whole time we've been going through this I keep saying that I wish Sable could talk so she could tell us what was wrong. It's obviously something neurological, but she's carried on as best she can. She's been feeling better today. Every day she seems to be coping with whatever happened in her little head. I call her "Sidewinder" now because she walks at a tilt, the sweet baby.

She's feeling better today, actually. I guess she felt like celebrating Christmas.
