Zimbrick

So I went in two weekends ago to on a Saturday to Zimbrick to get some service done on the Saturn. I was told I had a hole in my muffler and it would need to be replaced. I've had this done twice before and put a lifetime warranty muffler on the first time so I got the second one free. They told to make sure to bring in my warranty receipt to prove ( Read more... )

I would pay it, but let them know that you are doing so begrudgingly, and make sure that they know that it was THEIR screw up, not yours. I'd also do it in person, so that they know you were irritated enough to go in there to do so.

I wouldn't pay for it! If it says, "no charge" I would physically go in there and point that out to a Manager. They can't write something down and then tell you something completely different. If that doesn't work.....it's time to negotiate. You want me to go there with you? I deal with body shops on a daily basis and they just love me! /sarcasm

I would not back down especially if it is in writing. They effed up.

I've seen you lay the smack down before a couple of times. I'll let you know if your services are required. :)

I would definitely explain to them that it was 100% their mistake, and mention that you've been a loyal customer for years and this is a completely unacceptable way to treat you. Even though it's an honest mistake they're very much in the wrong for trying to make you pay. I feel like if the right person gets involved and hears this, they'll understand the situation and make it go away. It might just be a matter of time and repeated conversations until you're talking to the right person who has the authority and who cares about the image of this business. The person sending bills, calling about collection agencies, etc, might have no idea what the real story is or be able to do anything about it.

Realistically, if it got to the point where they completely refused to hear all of this, I'd probably pay it rather than have things escalate. But I would then make it my mission to tell everybody about this place treating its customers like shit and ripping people off.
