Homeless again. Sigh.

So, in a surprise twist, my new site host decided to quit offering fannish web hosting. Bad timing on my part, or my website-killing aura, which has now felled two hosts in quick succession? You decide. *headdesk ( Read more... )

Yeah, Tis Web Suckage: The Revenge...

I just hope Web Suckage isn't a trilogy. Or worse. *sob*

And have fun on your vacation.

Thank you, I'm sure I will! :-)

Good luck with finding a new host. Maybe an option would be hosting your own webspace?

I've given up on maintining my own site and have taken all my fanfic down. I am slowly uploading to AO3 and that will be it. Not that there's much interest in my stuff.

Happy vacation :-)

I've thought about my own webspace before. Maybe at some point I will take that option, but not right now...

But the good news is, maybe I've already found a kind new host! :-)))

Oh, bah! I like having a place to send people who ask about how to get a copy of Gift. I seriously *still* get interest, just so you know!

Good luck finding a web!home for your babies!

I seriously *still* get interest, just so you know!

if you have your own domain (or even not, i can spot you a subdomain), i have space you can use to your liking? seriously, i have about 4gb and i have no idea what to do with it. let me know if it's an option for you?

Really? That would be absolutely wonderful!! I don't have a domain and would be ecstatically happy at a subdomain on your site. I don't need a lot of space, either; my entire site is at 6 MB right now, and will likely never grow beyond 20MB or so. All I need is FTP access and a small corner and I'll be happy.

YAAAAAAAAY! :-)))

I'll get back to you in a little over two weeks, if that's okay?

Also, can I write you a story or something...? Think about it. *g*

haha whatever you need is yours! just let me know which domain you want it under (i have 15th-moon.net and freshly-dressed.net), the subdomain name and password, and if you need an email address, too, and you'll be set to go. (: i have 5GB absolutely unused and more than enough bandwidth to go around, so don't worry about disk space.

have a good vacation, and get back to me whenever you're free next! (and i'll get back to you on the story. you may have unleashed a monster, though, i'm just saying.)

That's epic fail on the part of the site host!

I used to have a website but was lazy in maintaining it, so I just use AO3 now.

Enjoy your holiday! Are you going anywhere exotic?

Epic fail indeed. I suspect I have some part in the fail, since I really did not know the host at all, but yes, all things considered the larger part of fail is hers...

I am SO lazy on maintaining a website, it is a joke. But I have hopes of bettering myself; I do have a redesign in the pipeline, and once I get that out...

AO3 is a great thing indeed! I love the idea of it, and do plan to slowly upload all of my stories up there - perhaps with one opr two exceptions in the case of the very long works.

I am not a huge fan of the AO3 formatting, though, and have grown overly fond of my previous website-based posting method. I'd really prefer AO3 to remain a back-up archive for me...

Enjoy your holiday! Are you going anywhere exotic? Not exotic as such - Croatia! And I did enjoy my holiday, very much so. I whole-heartedly recommend Croatia as a vacationing spot; I'd never been there before and found it absolutely beautiful, with wonderful people, the clearest and loveliest ocean I've ever seen, and many many other things to recommend ( ... )

I'd love to go to Croatia - lots of Roman ruins! Glad you had such a good time :D

Yes! Roman ruins, and Venetian non-ruins, and lots and lots of other fascinating historical remnants. Plus, excellent food, friendly - and incidentally also very aesthetically pleasing - Croatians, and a very pleasant and international mix of tourists.
