Just because I felt like posting some pictures of pretty and delicious macarons (my Mom brought them home after spending the afternoon in Paris - we are three lucky girls!).

They taste as delicious as they look (that's possible!).

Oh I really like the idea of re-reading his books now. It feels like a good hommage. I hope you'll enjoy re-reading his short stories. I'm loving it !

Oh lovely! I see now. American (or so to speak?) are coconut, eggs and sugar..mainly. Some are chewy and others are puffed some (beating the egg-whites perhaps). These are some photos of the ones I've made:

I know what you mean : some people have started to speak up about him and I love, love to read all these accounts and details. He starts to become a real person in my mind. I'm very much aware that's exactly what distubed him but I'm just a reader and he's just my literary hero. I can't help it ! I know all those links must be annoying but I loved reading this : http://www.newyorker.com/talk/2010/02/08/100208ta_talk_seabrook. That's seriously amazing !!

Oh yum. I love macarons (and am lucky enough to have several bakeries in my city where I can get them when I have that craving!) and I like the lemon and chocolate flavours too. (I tried a raspberry rose one recently and it was way too sweet) ~ hopefully I will be able to have some for Valentine's Day!

It's probably my favourite sweet thing to eat ! It's great that you found a bakery that make good macarons. I've tried other bakeries too and their macarons are not always very good.
Since it's Valentine's day (happy Valentine's day !!), I hope you're having some right now ! :)
