Oh. Oh this was GOOD. Rollercoaster from start to finish. Loved it.
Wormtail was creepy, and I liked how you introduced the groveling "My Old Friends!" line from POA.
It's so hard for me to figure out how Wormtail changed from loyal friend to traitor who grovels for mercy when caught. I'm still trying to figure it out, but this chapter casts an interesting light on the scenario.
In cannon I highly doubt that Peter was in love with Remus; I do however think that Peter was offered some sort of prize for his betrayal. Power, would be my assumption. All the same... this was a lot of fun to write. I'm really glad that you liked it!
I think I'm absolutely thoroughly disgusted by Peter trying to kiss Remus. Nice descriptions.
Although I'm confused... Peter is coming through as spy-like here, but then they are all denying that one of their own could be a spy. Are they blind, or an I letting my preknowledge of events color my perceptions?
I'm afraid that I made the spy bit too much... I wanted Remus to suspect to the point of being convinced but that everyone else just trusts their friend so much. But I think I over did Remus's assumptions. Hmm... oh well.
you have such an interesting idea, and I love seeing how it plays out. I have to agree though, creepy wormtail. Why does Remus keep his thoughts to himself? It nearly broke my heart when Sirius tensed against James. I can't wait to see your next post!
Again, I think maybe I should have rewritten the spy bit. It's been redone multiple times... for a while I had Remus accusing Lily and then erased that. Then I had Lily convinced that it was Peter and kicking his ass... which will probably still happen, because I like Lily being freakin' awesome. Then had Sirius convinced that it was a Marauder but not sure who... I finally settled for this edit, but... I don't know. It's still not perfect (obviously, if you're confused then I failed on some level).
Maybe things will straighten out next chapter :) Thanks for reading, my dear!
Ooh, I enjoyed your use of Peter. Although I'm not so sure he would have been in love with Moony, but I can see him trying to use their doubts of each other to his advantage to break everyone apart and make them weaker.
I do wonder why Remus wouldn't try to warn James and Lily about Peter's lie, even if it was as little as him muttering "watch yourselves and keep safe" to the two of them. I can understand his reluctance to claim any of his friends as spies, but I don't see why he wouldn't attempt to share his findings with James or Lily... sharing that knowledge with Sirius would probably be a bad idea, with Sirius's passion for overdoing everything.
I love the fight/make-out between Sirius and Remus--it seems a very them thing to do.
I really do have a reason for Remus keeping quiet, I promise! Also, like I've said, I highly doubt the cannon Peter would fall for Remus... but, I like the funky twist it gives... also, since I've screwed with cannon so much, Sirius can't the traitor for the Potter's death, I had to get SB into trouble somehow...
Hehe, screwing with cannon is fun. I like the twists and tension Peter's lust/love causes as well. I'm actually in the middle of writing a fic all about Peter called 'Confessions of a Traitor', so it's interesting to see your take on him and how it compares to what I have in my story.

I love the Drunken Duck, by the way. Great name.
This is wonderful so far, I can't wait for more.
