Oh, good. I was really hoping that whoever posted that prompt would like it! I am not the most sophisticated fiction-writer, but I was hoping to capture some of the feeling of a rambly late-night introspection sessions. I can't really see Chris engaging in much introspection at any _other_ time.

how interesting! i loved that movie, years ago. it was a really good cast. (whatever happened to michelle meyrink?) it's entirely plausible that chris would be that flexible and fun-loving.

Michelle Meyrink is one of my favorite 80s actors! Jordan from Real Genius is definitely my fave, but I loved her in Revenge of the Nerds, and even as the whiny girl in Valley Girl. She seems to have stopped acting in the late '80s. There's a brief bit about her on wikipedia

she was terrific (and she looked beautiful in that louise brooks bob). i enjoyed Revenge of the Nerds and Valley Girl too. there were some fun comedies made back then! thanks for the link. i'll go read the article now. :)

This is AMAZING! I didn't even know that Real Genius fanfic existed but I am so glad that it does. This is so well-written! Lovely job!

months late, but thanks so much for the positive feedback! I've seen a couple of Real Genius fics on Yuletide (http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/fandom_real_genius.html), and there is an LJ community, though it appears to be tiny and defunct (http://community.livejournal.com/real_genius_fic/)

Chris Knight is my all time favorite character ever. I think you nailed his mental ramblings beautifully-- "I used to be you, Mitch". I initially stumbled over Kent, Kent, really?, but you sold me on it. Really lovely glimpse into that quick-silver mind.

Hey, thanks! Kent was part of the prompt, and I wasn't sure how to deal with him. I eventually determined that self-discovery-stage Chris would not have been picky about who he approached (not that he would have been traditionally picky later, either; he'd just have had better taste than Kent), and that for Kent, whatever his sexuality might be, a guy who would _believe_ Jesus was talking to him would be too repressed to deal with a male classmate making a pass.
