"METROPOLIS" (restored) movie in theaters

I'd like to recommend that you see the restored "Metropolis" silent movie from the 1920s. It  adds 'lost' scenes from a version found in a collector's film archive in Argentina ( Read more... )

It's on my *must* list for this week here in Chicago, too.
But it's funny you mention Forry. After Aussiecon 1, there were remarkable parties in Melbourne for the next week. I was fortunate enough to be along for the showing by an intense movie nut of his finest for Forry. Like, on a 1925 Edison projector retrofitted for sound.
He had (iirc) the original first-run master of Metropolis sent to Australia by Fritz Lang. Since each master was cut a little differently, it had a couple of bits Forry had never seen . . .

I've it before, but just the truncated version everyone else has. Definitely hoping it makes it to a theatre here.

Yes. That was an 'exotic' dancing show. 8) It must have been to prove she was Real, and not a Robot! 8)
