Aw, cute pictures, though you look so serious in a few of them.

Good to know that I'm not the only one who has to gauge approximate ages in photos. My mom would take a bunch of pictures when we were younger, and then forget to develop them, and then take a bunch of them at once to the photomat, so there are so many that have the samn damn date on them. LOL

I was never one to be able to make a realistic smile when it came to posing for a picture, even when I was little. Still can't today, for that matter, so eventually my parents seemed to give up on the whole "smile, Maren!" thing and just take the picture.
From what my parents/aunts/relatives say, I was also a pretty serious child (or something), so that might have been part of it, too. :)

I was, however, smiling in all the non-posed pictures, though! :D

As for the age thing, I'm never sure how old I am in most pictures. My parents took and still take a shit load of pictures every year and no one ever makes the effort to put them into an organized photo album (we usually just stuff them where they fit and try to keep pictures from the same roll together-ish, but that's about it), and none of us ever use the little date option now available on most cameras because we tend to believe it interfers with the picture, so guessing it is! :)

Well, not *baby* Maren pictures... Haven't found that album yet. They are, however, little-ish Maren pictures, and as I was a pretty gosh darn cute kid, they're almost as good. ;D

I feel your pain on the whole "parent(s)a pro photographer" thing. I learned at a young age what I like to call "the perfect cheesy picture smile" it feels totaly fake on my face durring the photo shoot, but it seems to look natural enough in the end. Though my dad wasn't ever technicaly profesional (though he's still got dreams of opening an old-time photo place where you dress up) I did grow up with a darkroom in our basement. I don't think every little kid can say that they were entertained by sitting in a chair in the basement eagerly peering into the little plastic tray of developer watching as the picture magicaly showed up on the paper. 'Course, that's still is my favorite part of working in a dark room... Is it bad that when I think of the house that me and Joe don't yet own (nor will own for several years atleast) it's got a darkroom in it somewhere?
**note to self, look for a public dark room here in Germany**

Nope! Not bad at all! I can't picture myself in a home that doesn't have a dark room of some form or another, either, even if I'm not a pro photographer. :)

Our dark room was the up stairs bathroom. You might have noticed some of the old photo equipment sitting in there still when you visited two years ago. I always liked watching the pictures magically appear in the trays, too. :) I didn't like the smell so much, though, so I didn't tend to watch often, but it was still cool when I did. :)
