Just looked like what's being done currently, just bigger and I have no issue with that. The arguments against were mostly just NIMBY nonsense, and the small farms stuff just sounded like farmers wanting to be a special case and living off subsidies rather than running a proper business. Bear in mind, animal welfare isn't something that concerns me much.
I vary wildly on animal welfare issues. Medical testing on animals, I generally support (though would like stricter ethical rules). Treatment of animals in agriculture I think is often far crueller, and I think people often have an idyllic view of farms that bears no resemblance to the reality.
Not in my case, no, because I feel strongly that it's wrong to treat animals that way. It's not something I can say, well, people have their different views on, and just choose to ignore because it affects other living creatures. I'm happy for people to believe that it's fine to treat animals that way, I'm not happy for them to actually do it. I'd feel the same if you said, well, can't you just not go to the dogs pitfighting and not support a ban?
Have therefore signed it, and will continue to campaign for better standards of animal welfare in farming more broadly as well.
