Oooh, I really liked your original. A nice, short gut-punch of gen-fic, and so Hermione-like to go about ordering her affairs because it had to be faced. And I thought it fit the prompt perfectly. (figured I might as well comment here on it!)

Love the Ron/Hermione moments, painful as they are on one level, and I think bringing in Luna was brilliant. Lovely.

Oooooh, I really hoped you were going to turn it out differently there at the end, but the way you ended it was just perfect -- all her thoughts at the end, thinking about the joy Hogwarts had brought her, it was just the perfect definition of "sacrifice." Lovely and haunting and so Hermione. Now, however, I am going to retreat to a happy place where she lives. Yaaaay! ;) But thanks so much for this, it was very in character and very, very lovely.

Oh my goodness. That's enormously moving. What a beautiful, beautiful story - you dealt with Hermione's emotions leading up to that final, awful moment wonderfully.
