[It was all Hisoka could do to control his breathing and keep from screaming. There was a voice in the back of his head saying this was stupid, saying he couldn't possibly win, that Muraki was too powerful, too out of his league... but he ignored it. The roaring in his ears was beginning to drown it out, anyway ( Read more... )

[Joshua didn't want to admit he regretted the deal he'd made. Nearly a week spent in the same building with nothing to do and nothing to distract him left him far too alone with his thoughts for his liking.]

[Not that this would be normally problematic, but all things considered, it wasn't something he currently wanted to deal with.]

[Asato had been remarkably quiet during their time there, as had Hisoka-kun (for the most part, all irritating psychic speculation aside), which is why it had come as such a notable occurrence when the younger reaper's thoughts - he hadn't been eavesdropping, really, just... listening in - turned to that of the wonderful Kazutaka. The threats of death and bullet holes just made the situation all the more interesting. This would surely end well.]

[And beyond that, he'd be left to clean up the mess. It was the bargain he'd made with Yutaka, after all. These were the thoughts he had running through his mind when he appeared just several yards ahead of Hisoka's intended path out of the warehouse.]Going ( ... )

[Hisoka stopped in his tracks, halfway through the motion of stowing his gun inside his jacket. Of all the--couldn't Joshua just leave him alone, for once? It was bad enough that they had to be stuck inside the warehouse with him for protection's sake; did he have to get involved in this, too?]

[Whatever. The point was, despite being nowhere near this entrance all of two seconds ago, he was now quite literally standing in Hisoka's way.]

I'm aware. [It came out a lot less neutral than he'd intended, more of a snap.] Do you have anything important to say or are you just trying to waste my time? [Not waiting for an answer, he went to step around Joshua.]

[Joshua sidestepped in front of him easily, a quirk to his lip.] That all depends on where you're planning on running off to. Kazutaka get that under your skin?

[The look of momentary shock on his face dissolved almost immediately into anger.] How did you-- [He cut himself off almost immediately; it was obvious enough. He'd been eavesdropping. What a shock.]

Shut up. Leave me alone. [He turned and started walking in a different direction, parallel to the wall of the warehouse instead of directly opposite.]
