Today's podfic on offering is green_postit's Knives in the Water, a Star Trek Reboot modern-day Mobster AU. It's very gritty and gripping and intriguing. There's gang violence, and intense blue eyes, and tattoos, and Bones finally coming to grips with where his moral compass has pointed him. There are the best choices to be made out of a lot of really bad options, and dead people, and kidnappings. There's sex, and drugs, but very little rock and roll. There's some really really ohmyJesus fantastically amazing art (which is integral to a complete appreciation of this 'verse) as well, by steam_pilot, which should be viewed here right away - if I was better at techie things, all the art would be podfic coverart, but as it is, only the fanmix coverart made its way into this podfic. At just under 2 hours, this Kirk/Bones fic chronicles Bones' decent from completely upstanding citizen into morally murky territory...and it's so completely awesome! You have to read it. Or, you know, listen to me read it. Right now.
