The Musketeers 3.04: A man who lives and gives expensive jewels

Jul 02, 2016 23:46

Misery is manifold, the wretchedness of the earth is multiform, and the schedules of both BBC One and myself have become more than a little confused of late. Nonetheless, it's a welcome task to be able to concentrate on men in leather for a while, so here are my later-than-advertised thoughts about ( The Queen’s Diamonds... )

One of these days I really must watch this show and see if [a] it's as much fun as the commentaries and [b] if the commentaries actually make it more fun in themselves.

I have a feeling I know the answer to the second...

Several people have told me that they read my recaps without watching the show and enjoy them, which is groovy, but I like to recommend trying the two together - at least you get extra eye-candy that way.

Isn't one of the pretty men Merlin's Lancelot?

That would be aramis- I like to imagine he is the reincarnation of lancelot and one day will meet Merlin and remember everything XD. There is probably a fanfic already!

"Aramis spots one of his 57,019 exes, Pauline"

Hahahaha...Oh bless him.

"until actual Disney prince D'Artagnan steps forward with his finely honed horse-whispering services"

He really did look like a Disney Prince during that whole sequence didn't he?

*sighs dreamily*

Wonderful review as always my dear.

I've been thinking of D'Artagnan as an Actual Disney Prince for years (he certainly has the hair of one), so that episode simply confirmed my belief was correct!

I adored half this episode (the Bonnaire half), because 1) I am more charmed and amused by Bonnaire than I should be, and 2) I will never *not* love Athos being exasperated/helplessly fond/shamelessly flirty with everyone. And Disney d'Artagnan ( ... )

I don't know if you've seen the following episode yet but... THEY'RE BACK. *carrot-based glee*

Was it just me, or was the muskaboys uniforms generally more blue this week than normal. My wife (just reading the recap on the computer next to me :-) ) pointed out that they seem to have discovered coal tar dyes about 200 years too early...

Personally, I was surprised that Aramas'-not-an-ex didn't turn out to be the highwayperson, a la Blackadder the Third
