Thank you! It certainly took me long enough to figure out what I want to do with my life! *ggg* Well, I always hoped that *one* day I would see the light. It's finally happened!
I think this will work out. I have a good partner and we have a sound idea of what we want and how to get there.
You'll see, one of these days, we'll rank right next to Tokyopop and YaoiPress! ;)
Well, I always tend to be a multi-tasker, dabbling in this and dabbling in that, because there are shinies everywhere. But suddenly it all came together for me - probably because I've finally met the right business partner for something like this.
It won't mean that I'll never work creatively again - I still have my time off, right? But it won't be getting my main focus anymore. Or rather, I'll put my creativity into my company instead.
It's kind of strange finally finding what it is you want to do with your life... *gg* Took me long enough. ^___^;
Morning ~.^ Seeing that I only just got up myself I soooo do still consider it morning >.>
I have to say I'll be VERY sad to see the Lemonshop go T_T I've always held onto the faint hope that someday I'll have enough money to actually buy a LOT more than the doujins I have already. All the ones I have I got from there, so yeah, I'll definitely miss it (well, with the exception of my two FMA, one which has been a gift and the other I stumbled upon by chance in a japanese store XD), especially since you were pretty much the only source where I didn't have to have a damn PayPal account >.< But I get that it probably will be easier for you to only concentrate on one project, so... good luck with that ^___^ (even though I'm still sad T_T) *hugs*
Well, one of the major problems with the shop is that people these days don't want to spend the money on an actual japanese Manga, since they have already (illegally) downloaded it from any of the sharing communities either here or on other places on the net. Why should I import (at no small expense) mangas and doujinshis when all I hear at the booth at conventions: "Oh, I already downloaded this! Oh, I already have the scans of this! Oh, I already have the scanlation!"
Then there's also the fact that 90 % of the dealers at conventions here are selling fake merchandise from China - but people are buying them because they are cheaper than the original imports from Japan! Again, why should I invest in something that I can't sell?
So I'd rather put my money where I see a future.
*BUT*... if there's ever a doujinshi that you need or want, I will be quite happy to keep my eyes open for it. :) I do have my sources, so maybe I can still help you get those. :)
Gah, I can't understand people like that >.< I mean, I'll be the first to admit that I have a huge load of downloaded scans on my pc. But... that's sooooo not the same! Originals are just so much better *-* I think it's a good way to figure out which ones I would like and can think about buying... or if it's scanlations, even better, seeing that I can't read my doujins XD I have a scanlation for nearly all the doujins I bought in the past which I always open whenever I want to look at it XDDD
But I can understand you. When people don't buy, it won't be good for you >.< I have always thought the shop was going well... look what I know XD I just hope your current main project will be a lot more successful then! ^___^
And thanks! *hugs* I already just left you another post in your treasure shop. Not sure if that will be ok, but I had to try ~.^
I do have some downloaded stuff, too. But I always try to buy the original. In the long run, though, I *do* think that the *huge* amount of sharing that's being done on the net is going to hurt not only small stores like mine, but also bigger ones, and the publishers and artists that are dependent on regular sales. I'm not talking about sharing a chapter here and there, so that people can take a peek and see if they like the story and the artist. I'm talking about the wholesale sharing of complete mangas and even artbooks that's currently going on.
The more that's being shared, the less people are willing to buy. Why buy, if you already have it available for free - on the computer, yes, but if you really wanted to, you could always print it out, right?
I'm sure that the publishing company will do well, since we're concentrating on original stuff and not japanese Products. :)
Danke Dir!
*seufz*
