I had set my alarm for 6:30 a.m. It's 16:15 now. 15 minutes ago I woke up to the loudest damn siren I ever ever. Two solid minutes of Hawaii's state emergency system siren. Lasty night, 8-something p.m. our time, there was an 8.8 earthquake in Chile. There is now a tsunami warning for our state. If it does hit, it could be taller than the islands

Thanks also for the prayers and good thoughts. The giant height was the first report my sleep-addled brain heard. I'm hoping it's more reasonable than that, or has gone down. It sounds like something one would say in hyperbole.

I know I have on occasion disappeared from the online world just 'cause, so I didn't want to leave you guys wondering if I was all right. At least for now I am intact. But I should probably turn my cell on just in case.

M'just glad you're okay. I mean, fuck, waves anticipated to be taller than the damn island? Plus this shit's so bad it's reaching up to Washington and Alaska. I can't help but worry about you out there on that little land dot in the middle of a whole lot of water.
