You seventh years' lives are too exciting for me.

Oh, it was rather dull, really -- we're such terrible bores. You didn't miss much at all, to be entirely honest, and I'm sure you had more exciting things to do.

I doubt that anything in which you are involved is dull.

I am the very model of 'dreadfully dull', darling -- how could you ever doubt me?

There was nothing homoerotic about it.

We touched each other a lot, darling.

Not in anyhomoerotic sense.

I'm glad I didn't go.

And why is that, darling? I mean, I commend you on your good behaviour and restraint, but still, I'm curious.

I don't enjoy being detained.

But it builds character, dear -- what could be more thrilling? I mean, aside from getting down on one's knees and all that.

Why are you getting yourself in a lot of trouble? It's not even two weeks yet.

It wasn't my fault -- I went out to do my prefectly duties of telling everyone off for their own good. I accidentally bumped into Miss Kirke along the way because it was dark and I was running and I apologised and offered to help her out, but then I somehow ended up in the lake too. And you know what Professor Proudfoot is like -- terribly unfair chap, of course!

You knocked me into the lake.

Deliberately?

Do you actually think that Professor Proudfoot was fair? Your goose is cooked, incidentally.

Well, he did give detentions to everyone who was wet, those of us who were there to do our prefectly duties or not. I'd say that's quite fair!

He should have looked at intention. Particularly as I had none of the sort to get wet. I should report you.

Well, neither did I, or I would have worn a bathing costume or nothing at all rather than all my good clothes and a set of work robes, yes?
