I am *thisclose* to abandoning ff.net entirely. It's one thing to have people tell me I don't know what I'm doing, or to miss the point of a fic. It's another thing entirely to be accused of plagiarism, especially when the person won't even have the decency to leave a reply link.
On the plus side, they accused me of plagiarizing

Demons I get. People are crazy.
I think that puts it in a nutshell.

I looked at the paragraph she pointed out, and I guess I can sort of see the resemblance. Then again, maybe 100 people have read the story, and she's the first to say anything about it. I don't know if wave_obscura has read the story, but if she had I'm hoping she'd have said something if she felt her artistic integrity was being violated that way. ;)

Good grief.
I'm sorry you had to put up with such an arse love.
(I get serious migraines. Are yours focal? What are you on for yours? Because sometimes the medicine can make them worse not better.)

I've been getting classic migraines since I was eight years old. Aura followed by blinding pain, and when they're really bad there's puking involved. Good times.
For a while I was on prescription meds, but for me the main trigger is stress, so I can usually get away with Excedrin and a long nap. This is the first time in *years* I've still had the damned migraine after sleeping the whole night. I blame the basement renovations.

Oh, man, the days of three-day migraines are long past me (I hope!). That really sucks, sweetie.
I'm already feeling better now the meds are kicking in. Not great, but I can look at the computer without squinting, so yay!
I was lucky and got dragged to a neurologist at the children's by my parents.
"Do you see coloured lights or spots?"
"Doesn't everybody?"
I still remember that conversation. It never occurred to me that what I was experiencing wasn't normal.
The renovations, alas, are STILL not done.

Second, our writing styles are different, THE END. I can declare with total confidence, sight unseen, that you didn't plagiarize me.
I'd be honored if you did, though :P

The ONLY consolation I got out of it was that I was accused of plagiarizing someone whose work I like and admire. I think I might have been insulted if it was a bad writer, you know? ;)
I figured you would have said something if you were mortally offended by my prose. I'm just annoyed at this random, quasi-anonymous person taking it upon themselves to accuse me of plagiarism.

So I lied, I'm totally dying to know which story it was. The curiosity is KILLING me.

It was "Heaven Without You."

The problem with ff.net is that some people get an account just so they can leave bad reviews and not have them removed easily. My beta stumbled across this last year when someone left such a thing on one of her stories. And all I could think was, "you have the time and energy to do this? Really?"
In the end, you have to write for yourself.
Now I have to go to work, but hopefully I can come back and review your stuff later.

I just wish people could be grown-ups about this.
Thanks for the good thoughts!
