Creepiness and Catch-up

My last-minute efforts - including four bags of KitKats and my Sexy Park Ranger costume - notwithstanding, I find myself alone with just enough of a sugar high to attempt an entry.

Divorce FatigueThe Boy's Mom and I have filed for divorce. The separation hasn't gotten any easier for me; we have managed to avoid much of the petty ugliness I ( Read more... )

Poor single dads with long hair (the match.com kiss of fucking death

All they have to do is get to know you and they will like you! I mean that from the bottom of my heart - you are intelligent, witty, talented and yes, a wonderful father. You bring a lot to the table and I hope you will try to enjoy where you are in your life right now.

I know there is a lot of pain in all of this but I'm sure there must be a spark of adventure in there too. From the little time I spent with you I could see that you like a good adventure!

now go out there and knock 'em dead!

Thank you, and to tell the truth, I do feel pretty confident in the whole "once they get to know [me]" bit. But, much like getting consideration for the kind of jobs I want, getting that first consideration from the kind of women I want proves the hardest part; they probably get so many e-mails of interest that they just look for reasons to weed out people, and between my location, income, single-parent status and (especially, it would seem) hair, I seem to get "weeded" most of the time. But again, as with the jobs, I really just need one good one ;)> I feel fortunate to have a few women interested at this point, and I do look forward to seeing where life goes.

I am somewhat confused as to why a woman would have a problem with long hair on a guy. (I remember standing in line for hours in NYC to get standing room only tix to see a play all about it!) Maybe it's a generational thing - but back in the 60's we loved it. Actually, I still love it and I must say I'm rather jealous of yours ;>

I love long hair on guys too, and always have. It depends on the guy of course - some look better with short hair. But overall, its totally hot.

Re: long hair

I agree with dead_terrapin about it being generational. I grew up in the 90s so I'm not a big fan of the big/long 80s rockstar hair steez. Even Kurt Kobain's hair was too long for my liking, but I still thought he was hot. With that said, I'm voting for a ranting ranger with a clean cut.

I think we can agree on some important distinctions between my mop and those that ruled the decade of our birth. And sorry, the realm of Ranger Hair-dom knows no democracy {|;)>

i fucking love long hair and beards!!! i would type that in immediately, and then if i saw metal and ranger, then damn! :)

anyway, it's been awkward to comment since i am 'friends" with both of you, and of course as a woman i tend to side with women in relationship matters, but i've been thinking of you and i got teared up when i read the first part.

i would freak out seeing another woman with my baby...

i'm sorry for all you are going thru and hope things work out for the best.

Good to know I'll always have a few die-hards out there ;)>

I don't know that anybody necessarily "side" with the Boy's Mom or myself on this issue, or that one's sex should determine any such "side" for there. Glad you spoke up.

As for another guy around my kid, the Boy's Mom could date Jesus and I still wouldn't like this much, this soon. She can date who she wants and run her house however she wants, but this much, this soon will make reaching a "friendly" place more difficult in the short term.

Thank you for your empathy and well-wishes.

Pleasing. If I can get away before spring (when I have vowed to finally visit Yosemite), I will go to Humboldt. Of course, I will seek you out.

The long-hair thing may be because you're on the wrong dating site. On OK Cupid there are a lot more alternative people. It's also free. :-)

Although the guys there complain about not getting enough answers too. You're right about most women being swamped by email.

I was sorry to read about your divorce. It's never easy even if it's amicable.

I'll have to give it a go. I like alternative, and I like free.

Thanks for your empathy.
