A woman named Debbie (very much a Cat Person) answered the ad for Catsitting for mira_kitty that I (also) put up at Caltech. It turns out that she and her husband had two cats for a nice long time. Both cats eventually died at advanced ages: 18 & 19 years! So they're quite good cat caretakers. Now they want to travel more, so they have decided to not get ( Read more... )

cat hotel? meekorouse October 6 2005, 20:04:25 UTC
Hi there.. mactavish suggested I ask you about the Cat Hotel. I haven't actually asked anyone (we're going through our list of cat friendly friends figuring out who might be able to actually do it first) yet but we might at the last option kennel our cats. Mary suggested I ask you about the Cat Hotel because I was saying that the clinic we take our cats to (orange cat care clinic) describes their kennel as being rather smallish.. and we'd rather our cats stay home where they can roam around on their own in familiar environment. A cat hotel *sounds* like maybe Keek & Bun might be able to stay together in their own little cubicle or something??

Is this place Mary mentioned in LA? or might it be somewhere more nearer us in Anaheim.. again, I really don't want to kennel our cats at all (very cost prohibitive 10 days x2 cats) but we need to research our options if that ends up being the case. =) thanks for any info. =)

The place I've taken mira_kitty to in the past is called The Best Little Cat House in Pasadena. I really like it; the place is lovely and the people are really nice. There are two separate main rooms for cats to roam freely: the gregarious cats room (Mira's stayed there), and the mellow cats room. There's a third separate room with little partitionable spaces for cats that need to be separated because of temperament or otherwise, but even those cats get let out to play daily on the cat trees there. I highly recommend going and looking over the place if you're considering it -- you'll likely be quite favorably impressed ( ... )
