No doubt. Sal-Rush is the man. It's a pity young America doesn't read much.

I just picked up a little gem. It's "The Che Handbook"...feat. his story in pictures and interviews with key aides who worked with him closely. A terrific insight into a misunderstood idol. The Motorcycle Diaries doesn't cover much ground. There needs to be a another movie. He led a fantastic life.

I love his mad wordcraft. Just started myself, and taking it super-slow :)

It's also a subject that is so totally up his alley. Thrilling to read, thus far.

I especially loved the cooch nahin, though just as with the satanic verses, I wonder albeit with the smugness of an insider, how much is lost on a non-southeast Asian reader

I agree entirely. His work makes me glad I am who I am, rooted in the same geographies and cultural references. But I guess that's only fair.

Sigh. You said smugness. I just blathered. Being succinct isn't my top strength.

I gave you a mental thumbs up for that concoction. And, for using one of my favorite words -- fricassée -- a second thumbs up.

Oh and also, with your literary palate feasting on such delicacies, shouldn't the title have read "Burping Satisfactorily in Bed"?

I feel full and sated just reading the list.

merci, madame.

coming from one who is as voracious a reader as she is an epicure, that's high praise indeed. glad you're full.

and while we're on fricassée, I wanted to also use piping hot flammekueche for the scalding prose stylings of Tom Robbins :)
