Subspecies: Bloodpact -- Chapter Four

Nov 05, 2006 08:14

Hello lovelies! I have been largely sidetracked by my NaNoWriMo project (which you can read here with the password of 'temperance' if you are at all interested; it too is a horror story, though of the much more personal kind), but I do not mean to leave you entirely stranded!

I must also take a moment to both brag and pimp--the good folks of forsaken_fandomRead more... )

I just wanted to let you know I read chapters 1-4 of Bloodpact and could not put it down. I hope you plan to add to it.
The story flows so well and you really captured the characters in their dialogue and actions.
Very well done!
I miss Subspecies and hope they do get around to making that prequel that you mentioned in another post.

Thanks! It's always a real pleasure to hear someone enjoys your work. I am actually approaching a term break during which I planned to work on the story, so it will hopefully be finished sooner than later.

I hear you on the prequel--there really isn't anywhere to go after the events of Bloodstorm, and you've gotta wonder what the homelife that produced such sterling individuals was like. :) I may take a crack at it myself if they don't hurry up!

I'm so glad you've enjoyed it!

Believe it or not, yes--while I have shamefully neglected this story, the wheels started turning again about a month ago, and I have been trudging along with it ever since. I make no promises as to when, but I promise that Bloodpact will be finished.

I am industriously tapping away at the next part as we speak; it was eerie to suddenly get a barrage of Subspecies related posts and comments while working on it. :)

I'm deeply flattered by your suggestion that this could have been the next film; I've worked pretty hard at trying to capture the dramatically histrionic/deadly serious tone of the films, and it's a real pleasure to hear that it's worked.

It would have been nice if this was the 4th film..

I have the 4th film but it is not as good as it could have been..

This is not crappy stupit fanfic that make my head hurt..

So do as much of this as you like as its good and gives fans something to read as there hopes of a new film will never come to be..

Me again (I have discovered this LJ so late, so forgive me for commenting on older posts)

I love the Odyssey connection. I wondered if Radu was using her love of history and lit to bridge that gap. If you didn't intend it that way, still wow. And you answered the "where did they get their new clothes" question that bugged me through the Sub series.

The rape in part 3-3 was horrifying but so fucking well written.

btw this is so good I actually printed all the parts out to read it like a book.

No harm at all in commenting on old posts! I don't think there's a writer out there who doesn't like hearing their work is appreciated, and learning that I've made it into print has put a huge smile on my face. :)

You're right about The Odyssey, but I'm afraid the basic idea is not my own; you should really check out The Vampire Journals, if you haven't already. (It's sort of like Subspecies three and a half--different characters, same world.)

So thanks very much for letting me know you've enjoyed it; barring any unforeseen incidents, I hope to have the next part up in a day or three.

this is a testament to your skill. so far, Radu is the romantic lead. Most authors couldn't pull off a romantic lead who rapes the heroine. But you did. 10 gold stars!
