He never did that at a con before. 
I think sitting on the iron thrones next to Samwise changed his mind. :D

That was a real lovely surprise wasn´t it? When he said he always says no - everybody in the room voiced their disappointment and then he said he´ll do it and the ooohh turned into a yaaaaaay. LOL. He had a great voice too, and without any instrumental aid. Awesome! :D
