I had considered locking this post private so I could go back and look at it in the years to come to reflect on what would then be the past. I'm so with you. I'm waiting until things settle out this summer, and crossing my fingers that things get better. And then we decide if we're moving to Canada....

I don't think that any of the three candidates left are bad enough to make me move to Canada, there were certainly some in the Primary that did. Luckily, they were too crazy even for the Republicans.

Tancreyto really scared the crap out of me. Luckily, Newt Gingrich didn't run. Huckabee was a little scary, especially since he was so charismatic I could see him doing pretty well in the general election.

While I've supported Obama from the beginning, I used to also be happy with the idea of Hillary as president. But I definitely am not anymore.

I'm not entirely convinced that the acrimony will continue once the Dems have a candidate, though. Rather, what worries me is that the DNC isn't until August. If it takes us that long to pick a candidate, then it won't leave much time until the November election.

This election sure is going to go down in history, though. For a great number of reasons.

I like Obama more than I did at the start by a lot. I am still a little concerned that he spends so much time speaking in very broad ways that his policy may lack depth. However, my gut instinct is that there is depth there.

It will be really hard for everyone to come together in August for a November election. It is also possible that the bad blood that is created might not resolve at all.

Let's hope that doesn't become the case and someone wakes up to reality.

I'm hoping for an Obama nomination.

I don't hate Hillary. I just dislike her, like you.

But McCain vs. Obama - I'm happily casting my vote for Obama.

McCain vs. Hillary - I'm terrified to cast my vote. Because I realize we need change from the Republicans, but I actually like McCain more than Hillary. Mostly because I believe 2000's McCain is still there, he's just been fucked over by his party.

I get that, but as near as I remember, the 2000 McCain was still anti-choice, and the 2008 McCain is still in for the long haul in Iraq.

Clinton's current practices aren't exactly inspiring to me either, but war & the supreme court are pretty compelling arguments to vote Dem. regardless of how bad the nominee is.

My two cents...

Yes, I agree. It just is disappointing as hell, I really thought I would get someone this year I wanted to vote for.

Second! And I agree with Alan about McCain losing it for me forever with the support of the Iraq war and backing W in 2004.
