This is great: I don't exactly remember how it was, but I know your stories were difficult to find, or to sort anyway.

Yeah, I only had them listed by title in my memories, which was really confusing (especially since a lot of my titles aren't very descriptive). Now there's much more information! I'll probably add the summaries at some point too. Maybe this afternoon...

I just finished "What it is to Burn" - and WOW. Gorgeous. I loved that you actually talked about the financial sides of things, esp in the conversation with Giles. It's so in-canon.

"Please be real". thats heartbreaking. And the conversation before she goes back to England? "everyone leaves". Poor Buffy. I'm glad you brought them back together, and I love the way that his moving in is sort of anti-climactic. He's a drama queen all right, but this is something he'd just slip into, no fuss, like he'd always been there.

May I friend you btw?

Oh, thank you very much! I'm really glad you liked it - I had a good time with that fic. Financial minutiae is, for some reason, always something that interests me.

And of course you can friend me! I will friend you back.

As far as I can tell in most series. there's usually some sort of hand-waving rationale behind these things. Monica in Friends was subletting from her grandmother in line with NY's weird rental laws; property prices in Sunnydale are just dirt cheap. Since TV is basically just shiny entertainment to play between adverts, that makes sense to me, but in fiction I'm much more interested in the nitty-gritty of this stuff. As an author, I also like exploring issues that I care about and the practicalities of putting a life together is definitely one of those issues.

They really should have had Buffy sell the house after her mother died. I can see why they didn't, because it had become a fairly iconic set, but people in their early twenties don't hold on to spacious three-bedroom houses for the sentimental value. They just don't. (Though this series also looks at some of the reasons why they might...)

Hi! I don't think another round of Plot without Porn is terribly likely, to be honest, at least not any time soon - I think most people are occupied with all the various Big Bang fests and things. But thanks for letting me know you're reading!
