Banned Books Week

Banned Books Week is this week - September 22-28. In recognition of this, I've ordered Annie on My Mind, by Nancy Garden, #44 on the ALA list of the 100 most challenged books of the '90s.

The monkey girl says she wishes I'd gotten And Tango Makes Three, by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell, which was #4 in the '00s.

I have read and enjoyed both, though it's been since high school for Annie on My Mind. If heartfelt lesbian coming-of-age novels are your thing, I can also recommend Dive by Stacey Donovan.
