I will be less indolent one day...one day...

Nov 08, 2010 22:04

I was supposed to do a Sherlock fic rec post, and I STARTED to do that (like, four days ago) and then I got distracted and gave up after a few, which I'm guessing you all have already read, considering I got them off reclists I found on my friends list. Argh. I really fail sometimes.

Under here, though, if anyone is interested. )

generation kill, sherlock, recs, yagkyas, brad/ray

It is so fucking great, you guys.

I read the first few thousand words last night AND IT WAS AWESOME and now I am bribing myself through the rest of the day with the thought of reading this.

I need an independent adviser/beta who isn't part of the challenge. Hopefully an American who knows something about the places Ray and Walt are from.

I can ...sorta do that? I am not v. good at the midwest/south (ooooooh, yes, I am very much from the northeast), but I am American, not part of the challenge, and I can beta!

SO AWESOME, RIGHT??

I have decided to use you as a sounding-board/story therapist. IS THAT OKAY WITH YOU?

I'm not part of the challenge. I think puckling and I are just about the only people in fandom who aren't. But I live close enough to the area where Walt's from that I'd be glad to give you some advisement. I also had a good friend from rural Missouri, so I know a little about attitudes/customs. Plus, hey, I'm American. Obviously I know everything. :-)

I am going to keep writing for a bit, but when I finally feel the urge to dump it all in someone's lap and yell 'FIX IT' you will be at the top of my list :D

I am trying to keep my southern cliches down to a bare minimum, I swear. Heh.

Damn, now I'm even more excited to read The Moon is a Blind Eye. I saw it go up yesterday, but I want to wait until I have time to read it all in one go - otherwise I will start it and end up reading it all in one go anyway, regardless of previously set plans :P

I'm also saving this entry for when I've finally *kicks self* started Sherlock. :D If everyone else has already read them, then it's like the recs are just for meeeee!

I am so happy you love Sherlock so much! One day I will be able to catch up with everything in the world! I do need more Sherlock fun!

YAY for YAGKYAS! I can't WAIT for those fics to come out, in addition to the awesome that are the big bang fics :D If you need another beta or anything, I'm here! I stayed my hand and did not sign up, because competitions make me feel pressured and frightened. I went to school in southern Virginia and have many friends who pride themselves on being amazingly southern and country boys and whatnot, so I can ask them questions if you have any. They like boasting about things like that and call me a Yankee, even though I too am from Virginia, though am probably Yankee-ish considering Northern Virginians are frightening in how they see themselves as a different state entirely. So odd.

WEREWOLF!AU. OMG. I am on that. I have a sudden love for werewolves that was brought on not too long ago for no reason whatsoever. And I will always love novembersmith for the epic DRAGON TALE ( ... )

It's so wonderful! I will never be able to keep up with the fic, but that's okay, because it means I will ALWAYS have something to read! HUZZAH.

Let me tell you something - this YAGK fic is making me crazy. CRAZY. I am excited about it, but I'm all UNSURE as well, because I don't know if I can pull it off. ARGH. I am trying not to be too detailed about the setting, as less details = less chance to mess up the details, but I didn't know about the North Virginia/South Virginia sorta-divide, so that's helpful.

ARGH.

The werewolf story! DID YOU LOVE IT? I loved it :D

And I feel COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. I keep getting startled every time I look in the mirror, hah! And wow, chopping off all your hair is VERY BRAVE. I am sure it will look awesome, and also, you can wear scarves to keep your neck warm so winter will be thwarted.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, MIKABB! LOOOOOOOVE!
