I think it's great fun. It's a collaboration between Gen Urobuchi and a Taiwanese puppeteer group and the second season is airing right now. So yes, it's a puppet show, but the level of detail that goes into everything, be it the puppets, the backgrounds or the action scenes is really amazing.

Finished the first season today and i really enjoyed it a lot! It took me a while to get into the characters and their world and it didn't really help that everybody seems to have at least two names which made it pretty hard to keep track of who's who for this non-Chinese speaker...but after a couple of episodes, i really started to get addicted and more or less binged the entire show in a couple of days. And what an an exciting, funny and at times very moving ride it was!

Looking forward to the next season and might even check out the novel translation in the meantime. Thanks again for bringing this series to my attention!

Just checking in to ask if you're watching "The Untamed"? If you do, i hope you're enjoying it at least half as much as i do and if not, you should definitely give it a go!^^

I just started The Untamed and so far I'm really enjoying it! The pacing could be a little better but overall, I'm pleasantly surprised by the production. The actor who plays Wei Ying is fantastic and the rest of the cast have really grown on me, especially Lan Zhan's actor. I really like how we're getting certain scenes that wasn't in the anime, like a drunk Lan Zhan ^_^
