Puppy Love!

Mar 29, 2009 18:36

My daughter's stepmother got a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy a couple of weeks ago. I am adamantly "not a pet person" -- but I'm in love! It helps that Bernese is my favorite breed.

Her name is Cocoa, and she'll grow up to weigh about 100lbs.

What a cutie! Bernese are such charming, mischievous dogs. My sister K used to have one who was a real snuggle-hound --- and very skilled at getting on to the dining room table and/or kitchen counters to steal food. When caught she would look at you with big eyes and do the doggie equivalent of "I looooove you mommy!"

It looks like a comment was deleted -- and that the journal in question is friends only. When I go to the journal itself I don't see any entries. Maybe I should friend from S&S?

Cuuuute puppy! Of course, I'm not a "dog" person, and currently am not responsible for any pets, either. However, I do think that puppies - like children - can be fun for short periods of time when they're cute and well behaved. Looks like you get the best of both worlds by getting to take fun pictures but not having to deal with the responsibility of a pet.
And I bet Wolfling just loves the puppy to pieces, being the animal lover that she is. ;-)

It's mutual love, believe me.

I was there to pick her up two weeks ago, and Cocoa was sitting happily in front of me enjoying pets. Wolfling came down the stairs, and Cocoa -- without being called -- got up and started trotting after her, just to be with her. Very, very cute.

Stepmom works as a visiting nurse (or something) and they're going to be training the puppy to be a therapy dog, which I think is nice.
