Yes, rather uncomfortable - not really like a mosquito ... but somewhat similar, just more persistent and consistent.

I can hear it too ... although it's not very loud (then again, the speakers on this laptop aren't that good).

Possibly it's somewhat lower than the frequency normally used? (since I don't believe my hearing is as good as a 25 year old).

A while back I had a palm pilot program that generated very high pitches ... from memory daharja had slightly better hearing than me.

I may be 40 but apparently my hearing is still only 25.

Jumped when it started.

But then, I haven't habitually listened to loud music (much), so it follows I'd still have good hearing.

Turns out that daharja can't hear it ...
