Yikes, the only thing my kids ever seem to do to clothes is lose buttons. I'm always sewing the bloody things back on.

Do your kids do junior karate or something?

Not really.

All the school uniform clothes are ready for next year, and were given to us second-hand, so all the damage was done by others. The dress had been (badly) hemmed up shorter, but D doesn't need it that short at all! The tracksuit pants had dodgy elastic, which I replaced. The t-shirts had a couple of little tears in them which I carefully patched up.

D's favourite skirt wasn't terribly well made and the elastic had also given up the ghost, so I replaced it. E's dress - the buttonholes had started to unravel, so needed re-stitching. You know how much attention she gives her buttons!

Oh, and the stockings - well, D is very rough and active, but is a klutz too. So mending ladders just eke out the existence of the stockings for a few more wears.

So nothing too out of the ordinary, just trying to get more wear out of the clothes...

Augh. School uniforms! I forgot Della will be starting school soon. And you will have at least 50% sanity some of the time. Go you!

Yes, buttons. Dawnie loves them too. But is more of a zipper girl.

Sounds like a lot of work to me. Ugh. But worth it to get at least one ankle biter off to school.
