The Luckenbooth Brooch

I keep meaning to write about this, and forgetting because I get busy. I am reminded because The Luckenbooth Brooch was on the Baltimore program. Ah, and now I have something to pair with the funny but (intentionally) oversimplified portrayal of Scottish country dancing in an upcoming QotD from last night's Late Late Show.

Glad you managed to help folks out of the situation without anyone getting nicked or worse!

Oh, I can't wait to see the QotD about SCD! Is it upcoming soon?

We read in a Washington Post article that Scottish country dancing is one of the queen's official hobbies! But, despite having visited NASA-Goddard on Tuesday, she did not come to class at the Greenbelt Community Center that evening. The article claims that her hobbies are listed on the British Embassy web site, but I could find no sign of them there. I did, however, find mention of SCD on her Interests page on the Royal Family web site.

See, now I think it would be fun to have a dance where people pass things off to each other.

Maybe a variant of Postie's Jig?

We could do something like that. What would you have the people pass off to each other?

Something non-injurous. OOOH! Toy cattle. Make it a dance about reiving.

There are already dances about reiving (I guess that wouldn't prevent us from writing another one). We had a specialty class on those dances at Argyle a few years ago. We decided to call it Reiver Dance.
