On the subject of mass exodus-es

I... am not planning on leaving LJ in a hurry over the current BoldStrikethrough2007 business. While I do find it odd that it doesn't seem to matter what the age of the person(s) in question being depicted in the art are in the context of said art, I tend to avoid a lot of what the issues are with due to the fogginess of Australian law on the ( Read more... )

I'm friending you over at IJ. :)

Actually, I don't think your opinion is all that 'unpopular'. It seems like fen are split down the middle on this one. I personally think that we fen need to quit being complacent & actively protect ourselves (for example, hosting certain things off-site or locked here), because that's basically what I think LJ is doing, trying to cover their butts. With the MySpace crackdowns & other related things, I think their hand was forced on this matter.

(I no longer read any Hogwarts-based shipping fic, and I've had to give up pretty completely on Wolverine/Rogue)
That must suck. :( I remember hearing something awhile ago about how your country's laws were getting funky, but I didn't realise that the situation was that extreme.

I think we need to be more than just LJ-based now, except OMG that requires work *whimpers* I also think that it is time that many communities learn that flock is your friend.

Adding you back on IJ, of course! I'd hate to lose touch with you.

As for the W/R side of things, I'm even more confused on how that works than I am on LJ's policy -- and that is saying something! All I know is that they can take you to court over text files depicting fictional characters in sexual situations when one is under-age, so I'm going on the "better safe than sorry" way there. I'm still all about W/R, I'm just far more careful (and hey, my icons only HINT at it, they're not explicit).

I went and signed up at greatestjournal under evil_little_dog but have done absolutely nothing with it aside from signing up. I kind of am of the same opinion you are, frankly.

I actually agree 100% with pretty much everything you said, I just was unable to articulate it as eloquently.

At any rate, I am the same on GJ, IJ, Vox and MySpace as I am over here. Don't have a JournalFen account because I think you have to get an invite don't you?

Feel free to friend me at any of those although Im planning on staying put here at LJ unless they go kaput.

I have an InsaneJournal under the same name. I'm not leaving here but decided I wanted someplace else where my fic was just so I didn't lose it all. I don't *think* I have anything that would be considered questionable, but you never know what is right/wrong in this situation.

Its basically just a backup journal, but feel free to friend me if you want!

I'm no longer active on any other livejournal-like sites (mainly because I've kind of fallen out of blogging), but I *am* BadWolf on Twitter and Pownce.

Actually I really hadn't heard much of this before, since I really *haven't* been logging into LJ much anymore, but for whatever it's worth I do agree with the point you are making.

I'll continue to pop on LJ every now and then though, since I've never technically left. *grin*
