*Meep* Gonna take me some time to recover from that one. And maybe rocking in a dark room somewhere.

This also fills a prompt at the new hoodie time meme. Are you really fast, or did you have this in mind before that?

Either way, it's awesome!

I kinda had the exact same idea in my head for some time and the prompt was posted just as I was finishing the fic. Total coincidence. :)

I expect that in death John faced most of the mistakes he ignored in life. This was a lovely exploration of it, and the ending was perfect.

Yeah, I mean if he didn't get it in IMTOD he had well over 100 years to think about what he did to his boys.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the ending.

This is a great story. Love it!!! Dean and John are my favorites and there is so much left between them that has gone unsaid and the way Dean just lets go here was perfect. And John not fighting back, but letting his son say what needs to be said and then agreeing with him. Then telling him he was proud. This was awesome. Thanks.

Hee, I love how our brains came up with the exact same idea. I've always wanted John to come back, if only for one last conversation where Dean gets to finally say all the things he's been bottling up. And at that point in the series the last thing Dean needs is for John to start pushing back and John totally gets it, because hey, he's had 100 years in the pit to think about everything.

Stupid JDM with his stupid non-supernatural commitments...
Let's pretend this did happen, right after the camera fades.
