Perhaps not kicked out entirely. They had a guest, after all - or at least by Shu's reckoning, and even at his rudest, most mortified state, he wasn't prepared to fling the man out on his bare backside into the frozen snow.
The mental image was pleasing, however.
But it was only because Asellus really liked him. And that really only left the option of having him stay for breakfast, tolerating his presence, and then hoping that the whole experience would be enough to deter Asellus from ever hopping in bed with the man again.
... Alright, perhaps that was a bit too optimistic. At the very least, maybe she'd lock the door when she did from now on.
And so it was with that in mind that, having washed his hands after dealing with the cats, he found himself sorting through the pantry for something edible to make them and forcing thoughts of poison from his mind.
... Maybe just tea would be alright. Could he get away with just tea?
Hell. How was he going to look at Cosmas and not see that image? He was permanently scarred.
This might have been a workable ending if Asellus weren't incredibly mortified and uncomfortable now. Instead...
"Well, it's not kicking out, but..." She looked embarrassed. "I need to have a talk with him about privacy, and... uh..." Sheepish, she rubbed her head. "Sorry, Cos, but... I have to ask him about something, too." Not entirely a lie, but she didn't want to just... kick Cosmas out, after all. "A raincheck?" She offered, well aware it wasn't the best way to go about this but not knowing how to do so gracefully.
"Hm." He gave a shrug before getting out of bed. He could see easily enough in the dark, and it wasn't long before his clothes were located.
"A raincheck, then, I suppose." And there went the mood, and his as well, for that matter. Cosmas got dressed, not bothering with the top few buttons of his shirt. What was the point of getting so ridiculously flustered and uncomfortable over such a simple act? He would never understand people. Modesty was a ridiculous thing.
His shoes were downstairs, but he'd just fetch those on his way out. Though not exactly pleased with how events had gone and the reactions of the other two, he still moved over to Asellus to give her a brief kiss. "Going to stop by the forest again. Good luck with...whatever you need luck for."
And with that, he left the room, rolling his eyes at the entire situation. No, Cosmas was not a happy camper when he didn't get what he wanted.
No... not both of them. Shu stopped at the stairwell to look up at the man heading out of the room, turning to put the tray down on the table. At least he was clothed. Clothed was a good thing.
What to say, exactly? 'Sorry for walking in on you both mid-coitus, I made tea!' hardly seemed appropriate. At the very least, however, he wasn't the sort to wring his hands or fret too much about it. Nor to lie about being sorry because, aside from getting an eyeful, the fact that he put a sudden end to their excitement wasn't going to cause him any sleepless nights.
"Coming down?" Shu asked, considering his phrasing a moment too late.
Asellus had the grace to look ashamed as she followed Cosmas down the stairs, still buttoning the top button of her shirt and doing her damnedest to pretend that there weren't very clear bitemarks and hickies along the side of her neck and throat. She winced at the horrible, horrible double-entendre, and shuffled barefoot to the living room, scooping up Ensign Schtolteheim Reinbach Pitterpaws III and depositing him on her head. She wasn't speaking right now-- she wasn't an idiot and she could tell Cosmas was annoyed, but truth be told she wasn't wholly comfortable with sex in the house while Shu was downstairs-- the teasing would never end. Nor would the lectures.
