And where they didn't exist, they could be specially constructed...
I do like a nice monastic ruin. I wish we had more round here, but we seem to have been rather too efficient at demolishing them and carting away the stone.

Our nearest is Bayham Abbey- just over the county border. There's not a great deal of it left but a little is better than nothing at all.
