Journey to the East

I have been away in foreign parts, visiting the wild folk of the Fens (otherwise known as my brother and sister-in-law who live in Cambridgeshire).

Thank you!

There are a lot of photos! It will probably take me a week to process them all...

I'm glad you found your way there and back.

Starbucks is so overrated.

I had been dreading the journey, but actually it wasn't nearly as terrifying as I expected.

I'm not really a coffee person, so Starbucks was never going to appeal to me.

I am no Starbucks fan, visiting it only when there is little else available, but I have to say, some things they do well. Sounds like baked goods out your way isn't one of those. (Hereabouts, the turnover tends to be rapid, so everything is perforce fresh)

I think I was just unlucky with my choice of Starbucks. Motorway service stations are a law unto themselves. They have a captive customer base, so no need to set any standards...

That sounds hellish. I've never been to a Starbucks, either.

At least since I was travelling very early the traffic was reasonably light. I doubt I could cope with the M25 during rush hour.

I was not impressed by Starbucks. But then I'm never impressed by anywhere that doesn't have proper cups and saucers.
