After last year's heatwave and drought, it's kind of a relief to be having a traditional British summer...

I feel like I mostly meet those kinds of places while walking. A web of miniscule roads, none of which every quite point towards the place at the other side, leading to much map calculation to decide that route A may or may not be 0.1 miles shorter than route B...

There are a lot of tiny Dorset villages along lanes like this. You cannot approach them directly, but must circle around, whistling innocently, and sneak up on them.
