Not as bad as pushing a 9 pound baby through a three-inch hole, but I like to think it is close

The cartoons of my youth provided a thousand and one images of toothaches and violent removals of teeth. Every one of them was appropriate this weekend. As I said at one point this weekend on Facebook ( Read more... )

Hrm. Have you tried Ultram/Tramadol? I've been taking it for about a month, for my brokeass wisdom toof that requires an Oral Surgery department visit and thus the appointment had to be booked in fucking July...for december 3rd. Anyway, if you've not tried it, it's pretty good stuff. 50mg of Tramadol seems about as effective as 5mg of oxycodone or 10mg of Hydrocodone as far as pain relief goes, but it has NONE of the dopey side effects of any of the opioids...none of the nausea, fatigue, dizziness, weakness, etc which are pretty common with many of them.

I hope you get some relief very soon. I am kind of at a loss for anything else to help.

On a scale of pain relief Dilaudid is the best. When I had my recent accident nothing did crap to stop the agony, except this stuff. It's what they give stage 4 cancer patients. It didn't make me nauseated at all, and I'm the kind that usually stops in the middle of the Bayshore freeway to projectile vomit into traffic.

Just as a precaution they gave me this stuff to prevent the symptoms, but I never needed it.

commiserations...

I went through something similar recently - not 100% resolved yet...two rounds of antibiotics, no pain-killers, and an overly - jovial dentist/root canal specialist who kept expressing surprise I was in pain.

Feh.
