I looked into latex to remake my silk spectre from watchmen but eventually decided against it... I think you have to periodically condition it while its in storage or it will deteriorate over time.
You also don't sew it, as it'll just rip holes in it but you glue it together instead with special latex adhesive. Its basically super molded to your skin and just to get into your costume you have to lube it and yourself down, lol >_> You also have to rub stuff on it to shine it up.
The advantage to all this pain? It looks wonderful if done right, lol.
mjtrends.com has lots of latex info, sells it, and has videos on gluing it together
Psst, I saw your post on cos.com Sam, pity you're in Cali now (for me, awesome for you XD), I'm eventually going to make a movie Ozymandias costume, and Jonette's doing The Comedian.
So I notice you have not been paying attention to my posts. lol. Anyway- yea, I'm doing Comedians Robe for Dragon*con BUT I WILL be doing his whole outfit. I just needed abit more time. Sad that you did move and THEN pick to do that costume. We needed u at Dragon*con. lol. Good luck. I'll see u in the future sometime. :)
Dx Im sorry! I don't lurk LJ as much as I use to! Forgive me!
Dx I seem to have bad timing with these kinda things. But but how about Ohayocon? I know I'll have it finished by then and I really want to make it out to that convention next year.
lol okay ^^;; I thought you were actually mad. Silly me.
^^ I understand that. Plus I know that your costume is a little more complex than mine [ atleast from what I remember from the movie ] Well at any rate I'm going to start mine once I get a job [which will hopefully be soon ] and I'll aim for Ohayocon. Whatever happends I DEFINATLY want to get pictures with both you and Animeisha. So Let me know so I can plan to come out ^^
