I'm LiveJournally Impaired

I'm getting curious as to how people do that thing with their posts where the post turns into that of LiveJournal's S1 style, but keeps their journal style from mucking up. A lot of legacy writers are doing that and I kind of want to try it to see if it's my kind of thing. Sadly, I cannot figure it out. I'm not sure where to ask about how to go

I always wanted to do this too (simplicist had hers set up the same way) but I never figured out how to do it. I couldn't find anything from some quick googling, but maybe it would work if you used custom css with any .comment code removed? I have no idea if that would work, but it's worth a shot!

It would figure that I'm not exactly the best at custom CSS. I can hardly even grasp basic HTML. Although it can't hurt to try, so I think I'll mess around with a few things to see if I can get it right without making my journal implode.
