New stuff ahoy!

It's been longer than I thought since I've posted new icons and stuff on my journal, so here goes. If you've seen them before, then I've probably posted it to a contest or a specific community, but there is plenty of new stuff all round.

I hadn't seen that pic of CC on Voodoo Moon. Fme! She looks stunning. Loving the icons on the whole, so bright with great a sheen. Snagging some of the SG1 ones if that's okay.

Also, I have a question. The Cordy 'Hold Fast' and the one before it (I can't quite read the text), is that some sort of effect you did to make them look like paintings? Because they look cool!

I snagged some, with credit. And I love the effect on the 2 Cordelia icons-the one that says 'Hold Fast' and the one before it. They look like paintings.

I don't remember what program you use, but if it's PSP, the base effect is cropping the image (and doing the initial work while big) Sharpen it (sharpen>sharpen more) then going to adjust>add/remove noise>jpeg artifact removal, then padjusting the ligtness and saturation, usually with automatic contrast enhancement and/or clarify then upping the hue/saturation (if I want ( ... )

Thanks. I use PSP7. I may play with it sometime. Especially playing with the photo before resizing. I always do all the filtering/softening/sharpening after resizing. Never thought to do it before resizing.

I just thought that one of Cordelia looks so cool, like it was actually hand painted.

with 7 you may not have the camera distortion filter, try edge preserving smooth instead if you don't. It is a cool look, and part of it was the caps, it was a good cap to begin with, and so made a nice smooth base.

Wow, Becky, those icons are awesome. I want to snag a few but I can't decide which ones. They are all so pretty. Will credit, of course :)
