But also, maybe that only kind of works for them in the first season? And as much as I really love all the courtly love subversion narrative and where their relationship actually ended up going, I totally would have also been okay with an antagonist relationship with grudging respect throughout?

Like, sometimes, I would look forward to them DISAGREEING, and then useless Caldwell was there, in the middle of the argument, serving as a buffer, and I was all WHY ARE YOU HERE WHY CAN'T THEY JUST BE ARGUING AND HAVING DISAGREEMENT!SEX? Because, HI, I have a shipping kink. Also, as much as I wanted to ship them from the pilot, I actually did not start shipping until "Hot Zone," so we all know my very obvious shipping buttons. ;)

Hmm, maybe season 1 has enough footage for a "Sleep Together" vidlet...
