I was so pleased to see Titus Welliver turn up in "The Mentalist". You always know he'll give a solid performance, and he's so good at playing calm, controlled bad guys that you could almost like. He was one of the best things about "Lost", and helped keep it good even when it was starting to spin into nonsense towards the end. He's done a couple of cameos in SHIELD as well, and he's much the same there. Always watchable. And yes, I agree, this is a very promising plot. Nice to see it extending beyond the episode.
"Orphan Black" still very much keeping things interesting too.
Having given up on Lost after the first season, Welliver first registered with me in The Good Wife. I'm looking forward to what he's going to bring to this show for however long this plot continues.
I really am pleased the BBC Three is airing one episode of Orphan Black a week (even if I have no idea when it actually airs beyond that it's after my bedtime o'clock) because it gives me more time to react and speculate.
"Lost" was worth sticking with. There was some genuinely excellent stuff as the story progressed. It was only in the final season that it all fell apart. It became too obvious that there hadn't been any proper plan, and that they'd been making it up as they went along. So frustrating.
I've heard something similar from the people who did stick with Lost. For me, the balance between questions and answers didn't work out from the first season - the timeslot and lack of catch-up facilities may have been another hurdle, in hindsight. Going back to the original post I am hopeful that Orphan Black is better on that balance.
