I agree with you about Medusa. Since in the original myths she was a Gorgon, and didn't acquire her monstrousness via a curse, there's no reason why they have to have her turn that way in the series. At the moment she seems such a nice person that, even if she were cursed with snake locks, there's no reason to suppose it would make her evil. They could do something interesting with her, either defying audience expectation completely and keeping her good, or have her conflicted by a dual nature. Otherwise it seems a waste of a promising character.

Yes, I think the show has so strongly established that Destiny doesn't have to be anything like the myths, there's no reason to follow that route with Medusa either. It would be a waste of potential to make her evil and isolated and dismaying if they did that to a female character just to give Jason guilty feelings and angst. At the moment, I'd rather have her around as she is, but if they can't resist the lure of CGI snake hair, making her conflicted and complex would be better.
