I have cleverly learned how to undo zips and poppers, and I particularly like to open Mummy's handbag and see what is inside. For some reason, though, she doesn't like it when I take her things out of her handbag. I don't really understand that, but anyway, to make it up to her, today I put a pine-cone *in* her handbag. Maybe at the weekend, you can try taking silk handkerchiefs out of uncle wellinghall's pocket. You remember silk handkerchiefs - they are colourful, and nice and soft - just right for wiping your nose on!

Excellent work, young prince. If your mummy worries about you turning out the contents of her handbag, remind her that it could be worse: you could be a cat and bring her half-dead birds and leave them in her bedroom... (My neighbour's cat did that the other day.)
