Harper Government is now Toast

He just couldn't keep his ego in check. Before the election he had governed the longest minority government in the history of the country and then arbitrarily called an election (usually, minority governments fall which triggers and involuntary but mandatory election). The guy is poison for Canada. He was just holding back until he could get away with what he wanted. The minority government was the only thing keeping him in check. He was bound to get impatient and screw up some time. That's my opinion on it anyway.

Frankly I don't care if the PM is boring or not. It's not the role of government to be Hollywood. I just want a government as a whole to be working for our interests and not their own. I'd also like to see them stop taking steps towards extreme capitalism.

It's nice to know that unlike the US when we get a minority government who's interests are not in the best interest of the country, we aren't stuck with it for 4 years. That we can actually have something like this alliance happen. So that the majority of Canadians who didn't vote conservative but whose votes were split 4 ways get the controlling majority.

I laugh at the whole "it's the end of democracy in Canada" spin they are trying to put on this, I mean isn't it more democratic that the majority of elected MP's who are not conservative get a say in how things are done. It's certainly not as bad as forcing a non confidence vote to oust the majority government while pinning the sins of their predecessors on their shoulders to garner votes right?

Harper weaseled his way into office and despite his spin doctors hasn't convinced the majority of canadians he is the guy we want running this country 'nuff said. He should just bite the bullet and have a beer, relax and accept it.
