I've been cheering on the Tigers ever since the playoffs. If the Cards get into the Series I'm right there with you. But wah, the Mets are my favourite NL team and there will be a Dilemma. If it had been my favourite AL team, there would be no question at all. :)

Pishposh on the dilemma. As stated by our radio announcer, this year's Tigers are one of the greatest franchise comebacks in all of sports history. Just three years ago we set a major league record for games lost at 119. Until this year, it had been nearly 20 years since the Tigers played a post season game. Skipper Jim Leyland molded 25 good-ish ballplayers into a great team. From the first day of spring training, we fans have watched the wide-eyed glee this team displayed in game after game as they discovered that their potential was far higher than they realized. As the season progressed and the checkmarks in the "W" column mounted, the boys pulled the brims low and kept their mindset focussed, but we heard the giggling in the clubhouse. We are the sandlot, blue-collar boys who never saw this coming, but from the first at-bat in spring, believed.

Well, I certainly won't be upset, that's for sure. The Tigers deserve it. They've done so well from day one. I remember someone on my sportsradio station saying at the beginning of the season that they were impressed and wouldn't be at all surprised if Detroit got really far into post-season, but wouldn't specifically predict a Series win.
