It's not as disturbing as I thought it would be...haha. It's probably the first time (not a big BL fan, so what I've seen's pretty limited) that I thought the uke was pretty cool XD
Meh. I don't think the uke really "loved" the seme. I thought the whole thing was an elaborate plot made by the uke to manipulate the seme into depending more and more on him, so that when he finally committed suicide, it would be a fatal blow to the seme.
I think it's one of those stories where the uke's an unwilling participant in the relationship. I mean, he did go out of his way to try and kill the other 4 guys who had teased him 7 years ago, and who had more or less been responsible for the emperor raping him. The last scene was a flashback, which I didn't really get. So Yan went and painted a turtle on the guy's door, and got beaten up by the emperor....umm what? How does that lead to other stuff?

But I dunno, I prefer it when the uke's not sweet and submissive XD And judging by the seme's cruelness (and the natural cleverness of the uke since he got into court based on merit) it's more believable this way.
