T&S Tutorial:
1. First things first, crop your base, and sharpen, this is what I have done to this base:
2. Next we are going to add an exculsion layer, make a new layer (CTRL + n, or Command+ n), and fill it with a dark blue color. I used #0A0723, and set it to exclusion:
Now it looks like this:
3. Next to get rid of the washed out look, and get back the crisp high quality of the picture I added a desaturated copy of the base. To do this go to the base layer, right click and select duplicate layer. Then move that layer about the exclusion and desaturate it (CTRL + Shift + U, or Command + Shift + U), then I set that layer to soft light:
4. Now we are going to add a color balance adjustment layer, you can find it on your layer pallete, by doing this:
You will see this:
Click on it, then I window will pop-up, now use these settings for your midtones:
And your shadows:
I rarely ever use the highlights, because it tends to change skin color.
5. Now click okay. We are now going to add a selective color adjustment layer, you can find exactly where you found the color balance. Click on the drop-down menu and go all the way down to the black:
Then slide the black slider all the way until you get to +100, like so:
6. Now just add a default photoshop brush soft, 100 px. like so:
It would be on a transparent background, but I put it on white so you could see it, now set that to screen.
7. Now add a black border brush (I can't remember who made this, if you know please tell me!):
8. Now you are finished! Have fun experimenting!
Final Product:
Full Layer Pallete:
