That was a lovely chapter, and such an excellent closing line.

I do like the way you hint at the reasons for Byakuya's depression, without even he himself taking a close look at them.

Thank you very much!

The way I see his character, I think Byakuya would very much compartmentalize and wall off emotional hurt to the point where he would simply not let himself think about what caused it.

I can very much see that.

Wonderful story! So intriguing!

I loved Byakuya's point of view here. You made him so human (on the other hand, how he dealt with Momo was even more remarkable - staying completely cool even when severely drunk).

That closing line was pure brilliance. Turning everything on its head in an instant and further defining Byakuya.

Thank you!

As for Byakuya's reactions when seeing Momo, I see him as being so much better at handling bizarre situations with aplomb than he is with getting bushwhacked by small but unexpected reminders of personal loss.

I can see him acting like this - actually, the two Bleach characters I can see just taking such situation at face value are Byakuya and Ukitake. But that's looking back - that scene was truly inspired.

ooh, that last line was spine-tingling!

(and slightly inebriated Byakuya was a joy to read).

Dun dun dun! And the plot thickens....

So much intrigue in this chapter. I can't wait to see how this develops!

You were quite the tease with this! Giving the nature of Byakuya's thoughts I almost thought that Hisana would appear, but of course Hinamori's reappearance would have better (and further) reaching consequences. I just hope that Hisana does appear at some point.

Given that the last chapter was about how slowly shinigami tend to change, it really does appear that there have been more changes recently than what the shinigami would be used to. Add these reappearances on top...

Thank you! And yes, the reappearances have the potential to add to the volatility of the situation.
